Today was a very exciting and eventful day in the beautiful city of Salamanca. The day started off as one like no other that we've experienced on this trip so far. The past few days have been very VERY hot in Salamanca, but this morning we all awoke to a nice cool morning breeze. During our walk to school, the temperature was only 19° C (66.2°F)! During the rest of the day, the temperature stayed mostly bareable or at least more than usual.
Classes at la Universidad de Salamanca started early today at 8:30 similar to yesterday. During our first class, Gramática, we went over our homework on Past tenses and the Present Subjunctive tense. After reviewing, we were taught a lesson over the Imperfect Subjunctive tense by Professora Marta Garcia. Our next class was Communicación with Professora Rosa Piñuel. We were split into groups of three and discussed the daily routine of a man we named Antonio. Afterwards, as a class, we made up Antonion's chamfina-filled life story. Our last class of the day was Cultúra taught by Profesor Yeray González. We played a game similar to "Guess Who?" with famous people from Spain some of who are cyclists, cooks, philosophers and the riches people in the world. As we played we also learned a lot about how they influenced the Spanish culture and others around the world.
After classes ended we all returned to our homes to eat lunch. In my house, mi madre, Basi, gave us Tortilla Española, fried zucchini, and pineapples for dessert.
At 5:30 we all gathered under the clock in la Plaza Mayor to visit the API office and got shopping for about 2 hours. We visited many stored which we don't have back in the US. Some of which are Mango, Zara, and Pulls and Bear. Most of the popular stores had great deals and very low prices! So parents, don't worry!
At around 8:00 we all headed home to eat a quick dinner. After dinner we met under the clock again at 9:15 to watch a Flamenco Dance Show. I personally enjoyed the show very much. The intense expressions on the dancers faces and the passion in the music made one thrilling show! It was a great way to end the night.
