Celine's Expectations

I am very excited to explore the beautiful country of Spain. This will be my first time to travel to Europe, so I am looking forward to seeing in person all the historic sites that I have learned about and seen in my Spanish and history classes. It will also my first time to travel not only without my parents but with friends and teachers. The beginning of this trip will surely be nerve-racking and intimidating but I know that I will eventually adjust and enjoy the beautiful scenery, culture, and overall experience.

When I think about this trip, I imagine the girls and me walking through the plaza while eating tapas, looking around with so much wonder and curiosity in our eyes. I am looking forward to interacting with the Hispanic people and becoming familiar with their culture. It is nice to compare our daily lives here in America to theirs in Spain.

By the end of this trip I am hoping to be more confident in speaking Spanish and more prepared for next years’s Spanish 2 Honors class. I’m hoping that this trip will strengthen my skills in the Spanish language from writing long essays in Spanish to conversing with other Spanish speakers. I am also hoping to grow a close bond with my host family and of course the Ursuline girls and teachers.

I am one who LOVES traveling. I love to explore new parts of the world in person. Looking at pictures and videos on the internet of places I’ve never visited is not enough for me. I love the feeling of suspense and excitement when entering a new country then growing the feeling of never wanting to leave. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to travel to the wonderful country of Spain.
