Day 2

Today has been a very long but fun day. We woke up at around 9:30 for desayuno (breakfast). We ate some cereal and tostado(toast) with our host family. Then we all met under the large clock in the Plaza Mayor which is our meeting spot. Then we all went to go try some churros con chocolate. Some people ordered hot chocolate and some ordered cold chocolate to try with the churros. It was very different and interesting to try. After that, we went to mass. It was so beautiful! The chapel was built in 1513 and it is Gothic style, but in 1755 there was an earthquake in Lisbon which damaged the Cathedral. They made repairs and it is still standing strong today. 

After the mass we all headed our separate ways toward our houses. We had some lunch and after, had a siesta. The siesta is a very long nap which is so amazing and helped us rest and regain energy. Once we woke up from the siesta, we were all refreshed and ready to continue the day. The final activity of the day was that we all took a bus to the piscina (pool) at around 5:30. The pool was very beautiful and overlooked the city of Salamanca. I would have attached a picture but it is illegal to take pictures of the pool (I do not know why). Tonight we have free time and we are all going to head to the plaza which is beautiful at night. I can't wait to see what we are going to do later this week!
